Lord, Pray For Me
My heart was recently warmed by two verses from Luke 22:31-32. Peter was
told by our Lord that Satan desired to sift him as wheat. Sifting is
when wheat is thrown up in the wind to blow away the chaff. Satan
desires to place us in the winds of adversity to test our genuineness
and realness. This is much bigger than a profession or a spiritual birth
date written in the front of a Bible. Our Lord’s only response was to
say, “Simon,
I have prayed for thee”. This
is the thought that has warmed my heart. In our times of trouble we
often ask others to pray for us. Let us bow in His presence and ask our
Saviour, ‘Lord,
pray for me’. He
ever liveth to make intercession for us. The word ‘pray’
means to attach ones self to a petition. If He ever attaches Himself to
our request, it will be ours. We do need your prayers but greater than
yours is this thought, ‘Lord,
pray for me’.
Until next time,

Update
Thank
you so much for your prayers for my father during these difficult
months. After many complications, He did go home to be with the Lord on
Wednesday, November 1 at 8:45 a.m. We are thankful that we were able to
be there with him when he died. The funeral will be November 4th at
Providence Baptist Church in Brandon, Florida. Thank you all again for
your prayers for my family during this difficult time.
