Psalm 85:6—Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?

The word "revive" means to quicken, to preserve, to give promise of life, to be made whole. It has been our pleasure to see several “revived” as of late. By this, I mean to be gloriously saved. I rejoice in this and have been reminded of the methods that God will use to save His children. Does not His word tell us that He will use the foolishness of preaching and also the prayers of the saints?

I recently read the history of the hymn, “Revive Us Again” by William P. MacKay. He tells of a life spent on his own desires and of a mother who faithfully prayed for his conversion. Long after his mother’s life ended he was a doctor and had opportunity to care for a man who had been critically wounded. At this man's death Dr. MacKay was given the man’s Bible by a nurse for him to discard. As Dr. MacKay opened the Bible he saw his own name as written by his mother many years before. During a time when he needed money for school he had sold the Bible. This dramatic event caused him to call on the Christ that his mother had so fervently prayed for him to receive.

What a blessed privilege to be able to stand night after night and proclaim the Glorious Gospel.

Psalm 103:17—But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children.

• Chuck, Julie, Abby, and Megan are excited about the upcoming birth of their new family member. A third bundle of joy should arrive around the 6th of November.

• John, Ali, and Zoe are well and fine. John as busy as ever building houses. We are most excited that as of June, Ali will take a step of faith and become a stay-at-home mom.

• Joe and Sabrina are about to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. They have had a busy year. Joe became pastor of Antioch Baptist Church in Merritt Island, Florida last August. They also are expecting their first child in November.

We will soon have five grandchildren. What a blessing to see God continue to reveal His mercy to our children!
