Our Focus

Let us ponder some verses in Matthew 6:25-34. In a short conversation with His disciples our Lord mentions one phrase five times. ( 25,27,28,31,34 ) The phrase is  “Take therefore no thought “. This phrase means to worry or to be stressed out. What is one to do in a stressing situation ? The Lord says stop it. Instead of worrying in verse 26 He say go bird watching, He feedeth them. When Bill gates retired he was worth 70 billion. This would only feed the world’s bird population with bird seed for 2 days. Wall Street was propped up with 700 billion. This would only feed the birds for 30 days. The children of Israel were worry warts. In the wilderness our Lord rain them Manna from heaven. They could collect an omer a day This equals out to be 6 pints per person. There was 2 million of them. This would be 12 million pints. Can you picture 12 million pints?  How about 9 million lbs. ? How about 4,500 tons? We can’t pictures these measuerments. Let’s put 15 tons in box cars, that would take 300 boxs cars. I can see it now, 295, 296, 297, 298, 299,300. This went on for forty years. They got double on the day before worship. 595, 596, 597, 598, 599. 600. Instead of telling God about how big your troubles are, tell your troubles how big your GOD is! We must change our focus.
