On Earth As It Is In Heaven

Our point of meditation today is Luke 1:33 which says, “And He shall reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of His kingdom there shall be no end.”  It is here that we are told of two kingdoms. The one is the earthly realm which is described as the house of Jacob. Jacob’s house is always a picture of an earthly human realm.  The other is His kingdom which speaks of a heavenly, eternal realm.  The great promise here is that the child Jesus, born of a virgin, reigns over both the earthly and eternal world.  He reigns over all that is in heaven, in earth, and under the earth.  For the inhabitants of heaven this ruler ship is clear. May it be on earth as it is in heaven.
