Titles
In the Christmas story found in Matthew and Luke there are eight titles given to this baby. One is found in Matthew 1:16 which is Christ. This title speaks of Him as the Messiah. The second is in 1:21 and it is Jesus. We are told from this title He will save His people from their sin. The third is in 1:23 which is Emmanuel and it means God is with us. The fourth is in 2:2 and it is King of the Jews. The fifth is in 2:2 and it is His star. The sixth is in 2:6 and is the term Governor. It speaks of one who rules over all. The seventh is in 2:15 and it is my son. The eight is in 2:23 and it is The Nazarene, which means the separated one. It takes eight names to describe our Lord, you can sum me up with three letters.
