A Called Walk
I want to draw our thoughts today to Ephesians 4:1 which says,” I therefore the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye where called. In this call to walk I see three precious truths. One it is a call to likeness. The word worthy is a picture of a balancing scales. I must be in one side, Christ in the other and the scales must balance. When Christ was here He was the perfect likeness of the Father. He said if you have seen me you have seen the Father. The Lord desires for us to be so like Him, we could say to the world if you seen me, you have seen Jesus. How can this be? There must be a call to Lordship. Paul says in our text that he was a prisoner. We must die to our self. The Christ life is not something we produce but it is something He reproduces in us. He will only reproduce it when have died to self. I see also a call to less. In the words of verse two, ” lowliness, meekness, long suffering, and forbearing, there will have to be less of me and more of Him.
