Elijah’s Trust in a Barrel
Let us muse again today upon Elijah’s trust in our great God. He is the same yesterday as He is today. We ponder the word there yesterday, well the word appears again in the barrel story. It is just something about being there, it is always the perfect will of God. In I Kings 17: 9 I notice a town there. Elijah is commanded to go down to Zarephath. This is Jezebel’s home town, where her dad is the King. It sure is safe in the right town. In verse 9-11 I see a task there. God is going to cause a widow woman who has just enough to fix one meal before her and her son die to take care of Elijah. That my friend is one more task for our God. Have you got any impossible task today, our God specialize in such task. I see in verse 16 a treasure there. God supplied thru Elijah a barrel of meal that never ran dry for three years. She never put anything in but she always had enough for everyday. It seems like God’s people would want to just live there.
