Elijah’s Trust on a Bed

Let us muse awhile today on I Kings 19: 17-24. What an odd place for Elijah to trust the Lord, on a bed. What led to this time of trust. I see in verses 17-18 there is A Pitiful Predicament. This widow who took him in, her son has died and she blames Elijah and his God for the death.  Do you find your self today in situations beyond your control? The song says it well “Only trust Him, Only trust Him, Only trust Him  now”. I see in verses 20-21 A Powerful Provision. Elijah lays the problem on the bed before the Lord and cries out three times O LORD my God. The Bible said the boy began to live again. I say to us today is there anything impossible for our God? I see in verse 24 A Perceptive Purpose. The reason all of this happen was that this widow might truly belive that the Lord, He is God. Much that happens to us is to drive us to trust Him more.
