Adominishment About Our Dependence
We muse today on our last section of I Thessalonians 5:23-28. The devotion page may be hit and miss for the next week or so. I will be at Camp Zion, and it is hard to get on line there. Paul ends our thoughts on waiting for the King with an admonishment about our dependence. In verse 23 he speaks of a dependent conversion. Paul tells us that God thru the peace of the Holy Ghost has made us whole. We have been made whole in our body, soul, and spirit. Once He made us whole He has persevered us blameless until our King comes for us. Sounds like we are dressed up, packed up, and just waiting to be picked up. In verse24 I find through our musing a dependent call. Paul tells us that our King’s call is a faithful call. The word has the letters “ETH”, on the end of the word. His call upon the life never changes once given. But we need not fear, Paul said if He calls He will also do it. Ministry is not about us doing something for Him, but it is about Him doing His work through us. In verse 25- 28 we find a dependent charge. Paul charges us that while we wait, to pray(verse25). We are told in verse 26 to keep unity. It would be hard to give anyone a holy kiss if you were cross ways with them. In verse 27 the charge is to read. Oh my friend as we wait for the King give much attention to this book the Bible. He closes with a dependent claim. Paul tells us all the grace of our King is ours while we wait. His grace is the power and ability to be all He wants us to be. I say with Paul to this book, AMEN and AMEN!
