Helpful Entreating
Let us muse again today from Romans 8 on Possessing Our Position. If we are to live out what we possess we must learn to entreat the Lord for help. I call this section of verses 26-27, Helpful Entreating. I know little about the subject. I come as a student and not as a teacher. The word entreating means the act of going to God on the behalf of someone or something. Most prayer is produced by outward pressure and not by the inward birth of a burden. The history of true prayer is that it is birthed in the heart of God, revealed to the heart of man, prayed back to the heart of God with the confident assurance of an answer of ‘Yes, I will’. If there is anything I have learned about prayer in the past 38 years is that I have learned very little. We will see in our musing the next few days that it is the Holy Ghost praying through us and not us praying that makes the difference.
