Passionate Thanks

We are musing these days through Philippians and Paul’s prison experience. God turned his prison into a palace of praise. One of his respones is found in 1:3-4 and it is passionate thanks. In verse 3 I find thanks with persistence. The word thanks is used most often in Matthew 15:36 and Acts 27:35 in giving thanks for the provision of our daily needs. How many do we persistently give thanks for this supply in our lives. Everything I have has been provided by the church and the precious people of God. My prayer list grows daily of people who the Lord has used  to channel my needs through. Thanks be unto our God. Remembering people who have helped us is an effective antidote to criticizing and complaining. It will set us free from our prisons. I see in verse 4 thanks with pleasure. Paul took great pleasure in always giving thanks with joy. He gave thanks in Romans 1:9, ICor. 1:4, Eph.1:16, Col.1:3, IThess.1:2 IIThess1:3,  andPhilemon 4. The converts of this church at Philippi became   a wave offering of thanks given to the Lord. May we find some today to say thanks be unto our Lord for putting them in our lives.
