The Reputation Of This Person

Let us muse this day on Paul’s pattern for prison living. I find in Philippians 2:6-7 that Christ is Paul’s pattern. Let us today look at the reputation of this person. In verse 6 we are told He was in the form of God. The word form means He was the express image and exact likeness of God. He didn’t have to be like a robber and sneak around to act like God. No, He was all God. If you saw Him you had seen God. In verse 7 we find He laid aside His reputation. The phrase lat aside means to set aside the operations of the powers, while retaining them completely. He became a man and a servant,(one who cleans up the messes of others). Can we imagine being all God, setting it aside to become a servant man. Let us not forget man was made in the likeness of God and failed. Jesus was made in the likeness of man and was victorious in all points. How can we do less than to seek after this pattern.
