The Circumcision And Its Blindness
We are musing today from Philippians 3:2-3 and more principles from the prison. The principle I would have us look at today is the circumcision and its blindness. In verse 2 I find the cutters. Paul called them dogs, evil workers, and people of the concision. The word concision means cutter or mutilator. These were people who demanded those saved by the grace of God to live by the O.T. law. Do we not go down this same road when we demand all to have our convictions. I love what ST. Augustine said about convictions, he said,” love God with all your heart and then do as you please”. In verse 3 I see the cross. Paul said we have been to Calvary and we are not of the circumcision of the flesh but of the heart. Let us be careful of imposing the O.T. law upon others. It is only a school master to take us to Christ. The law is a reflector of who we are,a restrainer of what we do, and a reminder of who we need to become. It can do nothing , but show you the problem, but grace can only solve the problem.
