The Citizen And His Blessing
Let us begin to muse today from Philippians 3:12-21 and Paul the citizen and his blessing. In verse 20 Paul tells us his citizenship is in heaven. While passing through this world he has been blessed. In verse 12 I see Paul’s perfected blessing. Paul did not think he had arrived or was perfect. He did not think he had accomplished enough to sat back and take it easy. Think for a moment what Paul had at this time accomplished. He had evangelized Arabia,Tarsus,Cilia, Antioch, and the Island of Lystra. He had founded churches in Antioch, Iconium, Lystra, Galatia, Philippi, Thessalonic, and Corinth. He had preached the great sermon at Mars Hill. He had planted multiple churches in Asia Minor. He evangelized and taught Timothy, Titus, Luke, Silas, Gaius, and Tychius. He performed several miracles, which included raising one from the dead. He suffered multiple hardships of being beat, scourged, shipwrecked, imprisoned, stoned, roded, and mocked. If he thought he had not done enough after all this, where does it leave you and I.
