Paul Offered Himself

Let us continue to muse on Paul’s Personal Burden. In verse 17a Paul offers himself as a pattern. The word ‘follower‘ means to follow the model pattern. Paul is not an egotist but in humility he is stating what God has done in and through him. It seems he is saying ‘follow me as I follow Christ’. In 17b he says ‘mark them who have walked the walk, talked the talk, and lived the life.’ They are the ones who live the words, ‘Footprints of Jesus that make the pathway glow! We will follow the steps of Jesus wherever they go.’
