Paul’s Powerful Boast
Let us begin to muse today from Philippians 3:20-21 as we draw from Paul’s Prison Experiences. It is in verse 20a where I find ‘Paul’s Powerful Boast’. Today I draw our attention to verse 20 and Paul’s Boast of Citizenship. Paul said our conversation is in heaven. The word ‘conversation’ is our word citizenship. The root of the word is the seat of government of the country of one’s origin. It would be the capital of the person’s hometown. Heaven is the city of all cities and plus it is our hometown. Let us do nothing to disgrace our homeland. What is our homeland like? The streets are paved with gold, the walls are of jasper, there are gates of pearl, and a rainbow around the town. Multiple mansions in one house, no sickness, pain, or death. No need of the sun, moon, or stars. There is continual joy unspeakable. Here we are strangers and every night pitch our tents one more day closer home.
