Notable Saints
In verse 18 of chapter four of Philippians in Paul’s thankful conclusion I find some notable saints to muse on. In this verse there is a servant saint mentioned by the name of Epaphroditus. His name means a grave sense of devotion. His name is derived from the word Venus. It is the planet closest to the Sun and from which we derived the term god or love. Epaphroditus lived close to the Son and not the Sun. He was deep in love with Christ. Even in a great time of sickness he would deliver the offering to Paul. Paul said their offering was a sweet smell of an order pleasing to our God. Oh how many who give to us, it is a sweet saviour unto our Lord. Paul said of this offering I abound and I am full. He says don’t send anymore, I have enough. I thank the Lord for raising up several Epaphroditus’ in our lives, that keep our needs met.
