Early Lessons From The Sower

We turn our attention today to begin to muse on Matthew 13 and the Parable of the Sower. In verse 3 the Bible says, ‘He spake many things unto them in parables‘. A parable is a heavenly story conceived in the mind of God the Son that has a powerful earthly message. These parables were not used, so much, to reveal truth as they were to hide truth. Through these parables the righteous would understand and the lost would stay in the dark. In verse 3 the text says, ‘behold a sower went forth to sow’. In verse 37 Jesus tells us that He is the master sower. There can be no salvation apart from His sowing. We too are called on to sow the seeds of His Word. Psalms 126 says, “He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed…” Oh, how we need to sow the seed in word form, tract form, and testimony form. Paul said, “Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men…” Have you done any persuading lately? Got any seeds in your pocket or heart ready for sowing?
