The Types Of Soil

Let us muse today on Matthew 13:3-8 where I find there are four types of soil the sower places His seeds in. Remember, Matthew 13:37 tells us that Christ is the sower. Christ chose to sow seeds in four different places. In verse 4 He sowed on the wayside, in verse 5 He sowed on a stony place, in verse 7 He sowed on thorny ground, and in verse 8 He sowed on good ground. Three of these places were unprofitable and bore no fruit. Only one was a profitable place. I learned from this that He sowed the seed everywhere even when He knew that it would not be profitable. Some ask why should I witness if He already knows from the foundation of the world who will be saved. It is simple, because He sowed the seed everywhere. Jesus said, “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature”.
