Receiving The Seed

Let us muse today on the subject of receiving the seed from Matthew 13. I notice in verse 19,20, and 22 there was a receiving of the seed. The way side, stony ground, and thorny ground were all pictures of people. All three of them received the word in their hearts. One even received it with joy. (20) None of them who received the word were saved, but lost. How can this be? Many tell us today all we need to do is receive Him and we will be saved. What is the missing element here? John 1:12 says, “But as many as received Him to them gave He the power to become the Sons of God”. The power came first causing the receiving. This power caused the seed to germinate. There is much receiving today, but little power to become, thus we have empty professions and very little possession of son ship.
