Let us begin these days to muse upon Revelation, Chapters 2 & 3. In these chapters we find seven churches described. They were the church at Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea. These were seven local churches of their day. They were individual congregations with their own pastor. They were also pictures of seven church ages down through history. It ends with a description of the church of our day seen in the church of Laodicea. This age of the church ends with a cry from the Lord to His people in Revelation 22:20a, ‘Surely, I come quickly’ and then our supposed response in 20b, ‘Amen, even so, come quickly Lord Jesus.’
