The Basics Of A Letter

Let us muse today from Revelation 2:8 and the very Basics Of A Letter. There are two basic truths we look for in my letters. We find them in our today’s world on the front of the envelope. One, is who is the letter addressed to. We find it is to the angel of the Church in Smyrna. The word angel is our word messenger. We believe these to be the Pastors. We find in our study seven men sent to the Isle of Patmos to check on the well being of John the Beloved. I also find in verse 8 who wrote this letter. We are told that He was the first and the last. In the opening verses of Revelation Jesus says, ‘I am Alpha, Omega, the beginning, the end, the first and the last’. It is everything from A to Z and all that is in between. He also says in verse 8 that He is the one who was deal and is alive. I know of none who fits that bill but the crucified and risen Lord Jesus Christ.
