Repent Or Else

Let us muse today from Revelation 2:16 and the church at Pergamos. He has confronted this church about their relationship to the doctrine of Balaam and the Nicolatians. Our Lord comes with a very serious thought; repent or else. The word repent means to have a radical change of mind. It also means to make a 180 degree turn in one’s life. The ultimatum that He gives them is that He will come quickly. My, we do not want God to come quickly with the thought of wrath in His mind. He says when He comes He will fight against them with the sword of His mouth. The word fight means to declare war on. The word sword is a large javelin worn on the right shoulder. Our Lord’s ‘or else’ is sure worth taking great note of.
