The All Knowing Author

Let us muse from Revelation 2:19 today and the church at Thyatira. It is here we see the ‘All-Knowing Author’ of this letter in the phrase ‘I Know’. We can hide nothing from Him for He knows all even before it happens. There are three couplets mentioned that God says He knows about this church. They are works and charity, service and faith, and patience and works. The word works is in two of the couplets and means the toil of your occupation. The Lord says ‘I know what kind of job you do for a living’. He says I know also the love you show to others and the lonsuffering you show with other’s faults. This is found in the words of chairty and patience. The middle couplet is service and faith. The word service is the one who waits tables in a spiritual setting. The word faith is one’s creed or belief. These couplets deal with secular and sacred work of man but God sees them as one with His all seeing eye. All we do is sacred in His eyes.
