Jacob’s Staff of Death

Let us muse today from Isaiah 41:10 and Jacob’s staff of death pictured. We are told in verse 10 to fear not for our God will up hold us. Our Lord will hold us up through all our difficulties. I am interested as to whom this promise is made? In Isaiah 41:14 I find it is made to Jacob the worm. The word worm is our word maggot, which magnifies our total worthlessness. When we see our total inability and worthlessness we are in a good position for Him to hold us up. I hear the quote often,”God helps those that help themselves”. This is a false statement. He only helps those who cannot help themselves. When we see that we are nothing, it is then we will see that He is everything. This will take us dying to ourself.
