Jacob’s Staff Of Discernment

Let us muse today from Genesis 48 and the Discernment of Jacob’s Staff. Joseph brings his two sons to his father to be blessed. Joseph aligns his father’s hands for the right hand to be on the oldest and the left on the younger. Jacob crosses his hands and blessed the youngest above the oldest. The alignment of the hands forms a cross. In order for Adam to finally become a Joseph there must be the death of our Jacob life. May it be our desire as we move toward Christ likeness that there be a death to all we do and say that is not like Christ. The Christian life will be a continual struggle on our road to becoming like Christ.
