Encounter With Trials

Let us muse today from James 1:1-4 and a Proper Encounter With Trials on our road to God’s Blessings. We often think that the amount of trials we have show what kind of Christian we are. If there is none or little amount we think that we are great Christians. If there is a large number of trials we feel as though we are not living as we should. This is the same battle that Job had with his friends. The amount does not tell us what kind of Christian we are but our reaction to the trial tells us what kind of Christian we are. My wife and I have faced these questions lately with out daughter-in-law who was recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer. We wonder why, because she is such a Godly influence in our family. We find in verse 1 of Chapter 1 of James the ‘People Of Trials’. They are a scattered people. Through trials they were scattered abroad that the gospel may go to the end of the earth. We find that trials come to ‘special people’. They are called 18 times in James  the ‘brethren‘. The word means those of the same womb. Being close to our Lord will not exclude us from trials but will almost guarantee that they are coming.
