Purpose Behind Trials
Let us muse today from James 1:2 and our Encounter With Trials on the road to God’s Blessings. Let us look today from verse 2 and The Purpose Behind Trials. The phrase ‘count it all joy’ gives us the key to understanding the purpose behind trials. The word ‘joy’ means calm delight, cheerful rest, and to have the chin up when everything says to look down. The word ‘count’ means to place before the mind for consideration. During a time of trials what you choose to think upon will determine whether or not you will have joy. ‘Count it all joy’ is a tall order in the midst of trials but let us remember our Lord said of His cross ‘that it was the joy that was set before Him’. In having this focus He endured the pain of the cross and is set down at the right hand of the Father.
