Focus On The Performance Of Faith

Let us muse from James 1:3 today and our Encounter With Trials on the road to God’s Blessings. We looked yesterday at the phrase ‘count it’ which deals with ones focus in trials. Today let us look at our Focus On The Performance Of Faith. James speaks in this verse of the ‘trying of your faith’. Why would God try our faith? Certainly not to find out if we have any faith or not. Why, He knows because He gave it to us. He tries our faith, I believe, that we may see if we have faith or not. The word ‘try’ means the refining of gold. The Bible says, ‘When He hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.’ The word is also used in the testing of the metals durability of an aircraft. The Bible says ‘That they that wait upon the Lord shall mount up with wings of Eagles.’ Let our focus in trials be upon our faith. May we fly higher while doing less. Let us soar higher by gliding under the updraft of the Holy Ghost and not the flopping of self effort.
