Our Testimony And Blessings

Let us begin today to muse from James 1:19-21 and 26-27 and a Proper Encounter With Our Testimony on our road to God’s Blessings. If we have entered into the Blessings of God it will be lived out in our life and very obvious in our testimony. In verses 19-21 I find there will be the Testimony Of Authentic Righteousness. Righteousness is not produced by us but it is only imputed by Him. Do not confuse the religious rules of morality with the righteousness of God. If God has ever imputed to you His righteousness there will be the removal of some things. In verse 21a He asks us to remove ‘sin’s defilement’. The text uses the phrase ‘lay apart all filithiness’. The phrase means to throw off the very least hint of sin. The word ‘filthiness’ means any depraved indifference. May our pray be ‘Lord, give me a sensitive spirit to the least thing that might defile me. Give me clean hands and a pure heart.’
