The Pouring Out Of Forgiveness

Let us muse upon I John 1:7-9 today and the Demands Of Forgiveness. Think upon this statement with me. ‘He Couldn’t Come Down, But He Was Poured Out’  In our text we see ‘Forgiveness Without Request’. At the time of our salvation we did not commence the great activity of forgiveness. Forgiveness was obtained for us at Calvary when He poured Himself out and said, ‘Father, forgive them’. Our confession of sins causes us to enter in to the forgiveness that was already paid for by our lovely Saviour. Remember the word ‘confess’ does not mean ‘I’m sorry’ but to enter into a covenant with God, that I see my sin as He does. If we confess, He forgives and cleanseth us from all unrighteousness. The ‘eth’ tells us His cleansing is continual. Our forgiveness has already been paid for and endures forever. We are foolish not to step in.
