Let us muse today from Colossians 1:9 where Paul again prays and voices his desire for the church to the Lord. The prayer covers verses 9-14. The central theme of the prayer is in verse 11 where Paul speaks of the glorious power of God. The word ‘power’ speaks of an inherent power placed there by God. It is a power that leads to an implosion within that causes an explosion without. In verse 9 the word ‘desire’ means to crave. Paul begs and craves that this church would be filled with the knowledge of His will. The word ‘will’ means the wishes, desires, or wants that God has purposed through His decrees. The word ‘knowledge’ is a full or exact knowing that penetrates and gets a grasp on an object. Oh, to know God’ s will fully will certainly cause an implosion of His power within us. It will not just be any kind of power, but a glorious power.
