The Image Of God

Let us begin today to muse from Colossians 1:15-18 where we find 5 titles for Jesus Christ. Let us look in verse 15 where we find Christ called ‘The Image Of The Invisible God’. The word ‘image’ means the exact likeness. We know from the Bible that no one has seen God for He is invisible. Jacob said in the Old Testament that he had seen God face to face when he wrestled with a man all night. This was probably Jesus Christ who is the image of God. Christ said, ‘If you have seen me, you have seen the Father’. Paul said, ‘We now look through a glass dimly, but one day we shall see Him face to face and then we shall be changed into the same likeness.’ For now we must get into the Word, become obedient to its precepts and the spirit will change us into His likeness while down here.
