Pictures Of Progress

Let us begin to muse today through Colossians 2:4-7 and pictures of progress. Let us be careful as God’s people  not to stand in one place and become stagnant. Paul warns us to be on guard lest we are beguiled by enticing words. The words beguile and entice or words of Satan’s deceptive work. The terms are used by lawyers to make a persuasive argument. Satan is a liar and will give us arguments that will lead us away from God. In verse five Paul’s first picture of steadfastness against Satan is a picture of an army. The words of order and steadfastness are military terms of battle array and demands discipline and obedience. When Satan comes with his deceptions  may we adhere to Paul’s words, to endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. Do remember, there are no discharges from His army.
