Uncleanness

Let us muse again Colossians 3:5 and sins to die to. Paul has introduced us to a portrait of the old man. He has no beauty for us when we look at his portrait, but we are certainly drawn to his tricks. One of his five favorite sins is uncleanness. It is foul, lustful behavior which usually begins in the mind and is lived out  in loose living. Oh how the mind is the stronghold of many of our sins. “The old man watches sleepless for an opportunity to seize control of the body that it once owned for yet another fling. He is like a sleeping vampire of a horrid story. He lies there in his grave, a den of darkness, waiting his chance to seize by the throat and satisfy his horrid appetites and thirst. We must drive the stake of the cross of Christ through his hellish heart. We must deny him access to our members by reckoning him dead by the power of the cross“.(Phillips)
