Let us continue to muse today from Colossians 3:8 and the sins in good standing. These are social sins that we often overlooked in our lives. The one we will look at today is blasphemy. The word means to speak words that defame another’s character. One who is successful at what he does is subject to this form of criticism from other people. It can certainly be our practice when we see others who are exceeding in what they do. The Rabbis, Scribes, and Pharisees tried to defame the character of Christ. When this failed they had him arrested and crucified. Let us be careful when we say anything about another’s character, whether it be true, false, or but a rumor. God demands that we unclothed ourselves of this social sin.
