Let us muse again today from Colossians 3:12 and all dressed up with somewhere to go. When one puts on the new man of Christ, he will display himself in our lives in various forms. Let us look at two of them today. They are bowels of mercy and kindness. The Bible uses the word bowels to speak of deep in the heart. The word mercies is defined as tender compassion. It is that mercy that esteems others better than yourself. It is a constant attitude of the heart that makes us easy to live with. The second is kindness. We are commanded in the Bible to be kind one to another. What a great picture of kindness and mercy is when David took Mephibosheth to the palace. He had all rights to kill him because he was a descendent of Saul, but instead he made him his son and sat him at his table. That my friend is kindness and mercy exemplified.
