Girdle Belt Of Love

Let us muse today from Colossians 3:14 and all dressed up with somewhere to go. Today I draw our attention to the character trait of love. This is the girdle belt that holds all of the virtures in balance. It is the first that is mentioned in the list of the fruit of the Spirit. This love is not produced by man, but is shed abroad by the Holy Ghost in the heart of the believer. This love follows Christ without the question of why or how come. Paul says this virtue is above all others in its importance. When God’s love rules in our hearts we do not follow him out of duty but because of desire. This harmony of love keeps us in a balance of continually growing in Christ likeness.
