Seasoned Speech
Let us muse today from Colossians 4: 6a and my testimony before the lost. Paul here admonishes us to have a seasoned speech. The speech should always be with grace. Grace is giving to others that which they do not deserve. Let our speech not reek of harshness, criticism, and gossip, but may it be filled with Christ. When salt is added, it has three effects. One it spices things up. As we speak of Christ certainly let us be honest, but not boring. Another use of salt is to keep out rot or corruption. May our conversations never be profane. The last used for salt is to cause one to thirst. May what we say of Christ with our talk and walk make others have a greater thirst for Christ.
