The Commission of Tychius and Onesimus

Let us muse today from Colossians 4:7 and the commission by Paul of two great church workers in the Lord. He sends Onesimus with the book of Philemon and Tychius with the book of Colossians to be delivered to those to whom they were addressed. You remember that Onesimus was the runaway slave. He trusted both to if need be risk their very lives to deliver these books. Little did the two men know the morning they boarded the ship that the parchments they carried would outlast the Roman empire, it would be translated in thousands of languages, and it would be studied by millions of people. Let us remember our Lord has entrusted to us the gospel, let us deliver the message to those the Lord puts in our path.
