The Deceitful Bow Metaphor

Let us muse today from Hosea 7:16 and the deceit full bow metaphor. The word deceitful in our text means crooked. Because Israel has lived for themselves God has caused them to go into battle with a crooked bow. It matters not how good a shot you are, you sure won’t hit anything with a crooked bow. When we are full of rebellion and failed to draw nigh to God He has much in His arsenal to humiliate us and cause us to have a desire to draw nigh to Him Let us today be able to say with the songwriter nothing between my soul and the Savior I see.
