Sifting Defined

Let us muse again today from Isaiah chapter 5 and Isaiah’s Christ. We are looking in this chapter at the sifting Christ who sifts to expose the church within the church. The grower of wheat in Old Testament days would winnow the barley at harvest time. They would put it in a sheet throw it up in the evening winds that which blew away would be the chaff that which came back into the sheet was the true Barley wheat. Our Lord is throwing the church up in the winds of adversity those who persevere or the true church.
