Musing Through Matthew-John The Baptist’s Audience

Let us muse again today from Matthew 3:5-6 and the theme of Jesus the King. Today’s text shows us John the Baptist’s audience. They came from everywhere to hear John’s message and to be baptize of him confessing their sins. We are seeing John being touched with the dew of heaven falling upon him with the first fruits of the words of the Gospel message. It was short-lived for many felt him to be the Messiah. Do not let the response of our audience deter us from proclaiming the Gospel it did not deter John from preaching.
