Musing Through Matthew-Baptism Of Water And The Spirit

Let us muse today from Matthew 3:11 and the theme of Jesus the King. John tells his audience all he can offer them is immersion into water but when Jesus comes He can baptize them with the Holy Ghost into Himself with fire. It would certainly speak of our salvation which would be the placing of us in Christ that assures us of the fires of adversity to come. I am reminded there is also the filling of the Holy Ghost when God will often kick the bottom end out of us, empty us of ourselves, and fill us with more of Himself. Many today believe and teach you get all of the Holy Ghost you are going to get at salvation. I am glad our Lord did not buy into that teaching for He said how much more shall He give the Spirit to them that ask. Let us be found asking for more this day.
