Musing Through Matthew-Christ’s Shew Vs Satan’s Shew

Let us muse again today from Matthew 4:8-9 and the theme of Jesus the King. I think it is a little ridiculous for Satan to offer to the God of creation all the kingdoms Christ has made if He will bow down and worship him. The word shew used in our text is the word of a brief span of time maybe like our phrase in a second. Satan will shew all he has got pretty quick. In Ephesians 2:7 Paul says that in the ages to come Christ might shew the exceeding riches of His grace. The word shew here is the turning of the pages of an endless novel. It will take Christ all of eternity yea for ever to shew you what He has. I think I will wait till then and see what Christ has in store for me and not buy into the Devil’s bag of tricks.
