Musing Through Matthew-The Second Beatitude

Let us muse again today from Matthew 5:4 and the theme of Jesus the King. In our text we find the second beatitude. We’re told that great happiness comes to those who mourn. This describes a great sorrow over personal sin and the evil times of our day. Those who laugh shall lament those who sorrow will sing. The great blessing of sorrow is that we shall be comforted. Let us remember in our times of sorrow we will have opportunities to come in contact with the blessed comforter the Holy Ghost. We shall find that our mourning days will bring more comfort than our days of mirth.
