Musing Through Matthew- Truths About Resistance And Forberance

Let us muse again today from Matthew 5:39 and the theme of Jesus the King. I see in our text today our Lord deals with truths about resistance and forbearance. Our Lord says if someone slaps you on the cheek turn to him the other. Truth is often hard to swallow. Some would call this an act of a coward the Lord calls it living the crucified life. When Jesus was hit, reviled, and slander He never retaliated or responded but committed Himself to not my will but the Father’s be done.
