Musing Through Matthew- Moving Jesus To Help

Let us muse again today from Matthew 8:5-7 and the theme of Jesus the King. In our reading for today we find how to move Jesus to help. The Gentile soldier comes to Jesus and makes a request for a servant boy who lives at his house. He does not plead his own merits as a soldier but the misery of the boy. He uses the words that the boy is grievously tormented with palsy. He does not prescribe to Jesus what should be done. He simply lays the need before Him and receives this response, I will come and heal him. Oh the simplicity of just laying the needs of the day before Him and leaving them there.
