Musing Through Matthew-Questions About Fasting

Let us muse again today from Matt 9:15 and the theme of Jesus the King. In our study there are questions about fasting. Their first question was why do John’s disciples and the Pharisee fast often, this one He did not answer but His silence did. He answered the second one of why did His disciples not fast and it was because they were in the presence of the bridegroom. We can only have joy unspeakable in His presence. All ritualistic fasting that does not have as its ultimate end to get into His presence is but the shell of religion and nothing else.
