Musing Through Matthew-First Call To Rest

Let us muse again today from Matthew 11:28 and the theme of Jesus the king. In our verse for today we find a thought on the first call to rest. I noticed the call is to all come Unto me. The me here is Jesus speaking. The call is to everyone here but we know from experience everyone does not heed the call because they don’t have ears to hear the call.If one hears he will know that he is laboring and heavy laden.This describes one bogged down and lost in sin. When that divine effectual call comes it will give ears to hear and a heart to obey. In answering this call our Lord will grant rest.This speaks of the  eternal unending tranquility and peace. I bless the day I heard and came oh what rest I found in Him.
